The group, Shoot New M exico, has begun organizing a way to recognize the many people in front of, and in back of the camera, who have contributed mightily to New Mexico's rich movie making heritage which goes back to Thomas Edison in 1897! Named the New Mexico Film And Television Hall of Fame, they have ambitions to one day have a brick and mortar building, likening it to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown; bringing the state's film history to light.
Currently, the group is seeking nominations for their first inductees who will be announced in February 2018, at an awards ceremony in Santa Fe .
